What is Aadhaar Virtual ID (VID)
Where Can VID Be Generated?
Aadhaar virtual ID can be generated from the portal of UIDAI. This will be a digital ID. The base holder can generate it several times. At present VID is valid only for one day. This means that after one day the base holder can regenerate this virtual base ID. It can only be generated from the website of UIDAI.
Generate your VID
> Visit the UIDAI homepage to generate a VID.
> Enter your base number now. After that, enter the security code and click on the SEND OTP.
> The mobile number from where your base will be registered, the OTP will be sent to you.
> After entering OTP, you will get the new VID generated option
> When it is generated, your virtual ID will be sent on your mobile. I.e. the number of 16 digits will come.
What will happen with Virtual ID?
> This will give you the option of not sharing the base number at the time of verification.
> Various items like verification of name, address and photograph will be verified with virtual ID.
> A user will be able to generate as many virtual cards as they want.
> Old ID will automatically get canceled.
> According to UIDAI, authorized agencies will not be allowed to generate virtual ID on behalf of Aadhaar card holder.
